FC Barcelona wins Osasuna and re-establishes it’s pride

True, the FC Barcelona environment was a bit upset over the critics after the two draws against Real Sociedad and AC Milan. Winning so much –FCB won 12 of the 15 possible cups during the last 3 years- puts the pressure in each game. Noblesse oblige. And the press here in Barcelona quickly talk about a crisis. After all its their job to sell newspapers.

All usual, the answer to these types of situations takes approximately 90 minutes. Or two times 45 if you like. And what an answer it was! A fluid FCB showed why they are the best of the world. The combinations between Messi, Cesc, Thiago, Villa, Pedro, Xavi and their compañeros were as fast as lightning and left the Osasuna defense without answer. Poor Osasuna, they were just in the wrong place on the wrong moment. Poor press also, now they have to find a different story!

The cactus garden

"Mossèn Costa i Llobera's" Garden, located in the district of Sants-Montjuïc (Miramar street close to Plaça de l’Armada) is probably the most unique place to see in Montjuïc. It's one of the best themed gardens of the city. The garden covers an area of 6.5 hectares and holds the most important collection cactus of the city, one of the leading of Catalunya and probably one of the largest in the world. This park exists since 1970.

It includes both the set of species and the variety of geographical origins of the plants, as well as the particular conditions in which they live given their orientation in the mountain of Montjuïc and within the micro-climate of the city. Conditions similar to their native habitat, since the vast majority of specimens are from countries in tropical, subtropical and desert areas.

Gracia Party!

Today begins the -perhaps- most popular festival in Barcelona and Catalunya: the Festival of Gracia.

You can't miss this event, besides being free, it receives thousands of visitors from all over the city and the world.
This festival starts from today until August 21st in the neighborhood of Gracia. During the day, many activities will keep you entertained: dance, theater, exhibitions, workshops, children's activities and sports.
During the night, the party will continue untill late in the night where hundreds of bars, restaurants and concerts offer you a good excuse to enjoy the area.

Nice to mention is that the best part of this party are the decorated streets. Each street competes to be the most beautiful and original, and many uses political themes to spice up their street. We invite you to send us your best photos to share with other friends.

Enjoy it!
