Eixample is 'hip'

Recently an article in the Dutch fashion-and lifestyle magazine 'red' described with great enthousiasm the neighborhoud "Eixample" in Barcelona. Literally the 'barrio' was described as the hippest of all in Barcelona.

"Eixample" simply means "extension" in the local catalan language. This neighborhoud was designed already some time ago, the late 19th century, by Ildefons Cerdá. The typical octoganal blocks give more visibility and ventilation at the street crossings although these days this is quit succesfully ruined by parkings... Most of the beautiful modernistic buildings were built in the barrio Eixample, absolutely worthwhile to walk through on a sunny day!

MACBA in the night

The MACBA’s nocturnal summer program includes its regular guided tours as well as a series of special activities.
As in every summer, the bar located on the Museum's First Floor terrace will remain open on Museum hours.

The MACBA’s nocturnal summer is open every Thursday and Fridays, from June 25 to September 23, open until midnight, and the price is 5 € (from 8 pm).

Then, we recommend to take some tapas in the neigborhood, full of terraces where you can relax after a warm day in Barcelona.

The MACBA Museum is located in Plaça dels Angels in the Raval area.
